Treat yourself to a creative adventure and join me and Carolyn Gavin for a two day painting workshop in Toronto!
It doesn’t matter if you are at the very beginning of your art journey or a seasoned artist - we are going to make beautiful things together!
On Saturday, November 30th,
After meeting and getting to know each other a little bit, we’ll familiarize ourselves with all the materials and get comfortable with mixing, consistency and technique. We will be using watercolours, gouache and acryla gouache, exploring how and why they work together.
Carolyn Gavin will do a floral painting presentation, after which we’ll sketch and paint together for a couple of hours.
Help, advise and additional direction for all.
After a delicious lunch we will have another floral painting presentation by Helen Dardik.
More painting together after that!
On Sunday, December 1st, we’ll focus on nature, mushrooms, leaves and exploration of personal style.
We’ll paint from nature and from within, and learn how to see what’s there and what could be there.
The first order of the day will be a nature painting presentation by Helen Dardik & Carolyn Gavin.
We’ll learn to sketch out an eye pleasing composition, choose colours that go well together and learn when to wait and when to let paints bleed one into another.
After sketching out our composition we’ll have a delicious lunch, chat and rest our minds and our eyes.
The second half of the day will start with painting together, with help, advice and guidance from Carolyn & Helen.
About the Space
Fieldwork - Photo & Film Studio is a contemporary space with south exposure (good daylight) in Toronto… 588 Eastern Avenue
An exquisite lunch, coffee, tea, and snacks will be provided.
A list of recommended supplies will be sent following your registration.

*CANCELLATION policy
A lot of planning, expenses and time goes into producing the workshops. It’s a long walk up the steep hill in the best of times and everything is weighed, counted and taken into consideration to make this into the best experience possible. Therefore we do not offer credit, refunds or cancellations. However, you’re welcome to transfer your “workshop place” to a friend to go in your stead.
In case (a very unlikely case) the workshop is canceled - you will be notified immediately and a full refund will follow.
